Rogues Gallery

Ok, up top there we've got two characters from my story for Illustrative drawing. Then below it we have the outcome of two "Power Hour" speed challenges between myself and Mike Puncekar. Zombie Hunter and Comic book Geek. Really wish blogger would allow me to position my pics where I want.

Hang Em High

New thing for Groff. I would gladly drive to texas for this if only it were real. It was an open assignment so I had some fun with it. I'd been wanting to do something western themed ever since I saw The Proposition way back in the summer. Then I started reading the Dark Tower series and that only fueled the Olde-timey flame. So this is the outcome of several months of western brooding and Colt single action armys and dusty glasses of whiskey. I like it. I mean I had a lot of fun doing this one. its always fun when I get to break out the bottle of higgins india ink and get a little messy. I created so many custom brushes for this guy too. I feel pretty accomplished. Normally this is where the "blogger" would go to sleep with sense of self-righteousness. Me? I'm gonna go do more homework. Til next time campers, thanks for looking.

Self-Branding

These have gone through some weird changes but I think I'm finally starting to narrow down what I want them to look like. So you've got business cards and a resume up there. I wanted a branding that had a sort of sophistication and class to it, but that also had a lighthearted, sarcastic side to it. I dunno, we'll see. Thanks for taking a look.

It Starts Again.....

Ok Ok Ok! Get off my back. So I maybe took an Art Hiatus over the summer to enjoy my last summer free.... Ooh... weird sayin that. Anyway yea school started back up and wouldn't you know it I'm not sleeping.... Goes hand in hand. Lotsa classes, but I'd be lying through my teeth if I said I wasn't excited about some of them. Which is strange for me. Maybe I'll like this whole illustration thing.

Anyway, this guy here. He's for Professional Practice. Basically you are assigned a career and just let loose with it. I got the Roadie... I know... he's gonna be jamming backstage all by himself while the band is up on stage. I brought in a very very pitiful looking color comp last week and I need to remind my classmates, myself and my Professor that I'm at this school for a reason. So I'm gonna be finishing up the guitar and other bits of him, then its on to the background. Anyway yea, Comment, Critique, Bitch, Whatever you want. Thanks for looking.

Speaker For The Dead

Started this guy yesterday. I recently read the book and was blown away at how good it was. The last few chapters really did surprise me. Big Recommendation. Anyway, here's my cover on its way to completion. I'm finally done with this semester now so I can focus on whatever I want to. I've been really really wanting to get into some awesome sculpey ideas. And I was gonna pick up some oils this summer and try and get away from digital a bit. Speaking of Sculpey Figures...........

Some New Stuff

Just some new things to post up. The first one was something I did quite a while ago. The other was a quick little speedpaint. I miss having models to draw from in Digital Drawing. They're all guys too.... Anyway, just wanted to get these up. On bottom here we've got a mock magazine cover for design.

Super Crunch!!!

Just a little something for Mahan this week. It was much funnier when it was Her-O's instead of super crunch but yea. I think the type came out nice enough but I've still got some color issues to worry about. I've been working non-stop on the website which should be up sometime before school is out. I've been working a bunch on my 3-D stuff too. Got a batman bust here thats working out pretty well so far. Suprisingly it came together very fast.

King Lear and all his Friends

King Lear cover for Theatre Playbill. This was a lot of fun and I worked really fast (maybe 2-3 hours) All in all I like it. Below it here is the inkwash I did for the middle daughters face. Next to that are some icons I did in Design for movie genres. If I think of anything else I haven't yet posted, I'll throw it up here.

Sumfin New

This was for Design, but I realized I completely skipped the objective and kept painting anyways. Haven't really been enjoying school very much but this definitely was fun. I watched LOTS of blade runner for reference.

Also, I downloaded a tutorial off of ConceptArt.org, they're very very helpful and taught by some of the best artists in the business right now. Thanks for looking!
